Coordinator
Pre-Collegiate and High School Leadership Programs


  • Coordinates and administers leadership programs, college preparation, and academic programs to high school student members.
  • Plans and implements summer program.
  • Manages and coordinates high school programs and recruits high school students for college preparation and leadership programs.
  • Provides academic and financial aid counseling and monitors high school student performance.
  • Outreaches to youth groups, high schools, and community organizations.
  • Assist in outreach to college and universities.
  • Works closely with volunteers.


Coordinator
Membership Volunteerism and Philanthropy

  • Coordinates and administers the membership, volunteerism and
    philanthropy program for the NBCA.
  • Coordinates membership and volunteer trainings and appreciation events.
  • Provides professional development activities for members and corporate clients on diversity initiatives.
  • Provides academic and financial aid counseling of High School Students and College Students.
  • Develops and informs members of professional development opportunities.
  • Develops a comprehensive marketing plan for members and the community including marketing brochures, kits and proposals.
  • Recruits new members and volunteers for the volunteerism and philanthropy program.
  • Organizes general meetings for members.
  • Maintains member information database and researches data.
  • Outreaches to corporations, professional organizations and community   groups.   


Coordinator Community Partnerships and At-Risk Students

  • Coordinates and administers educational and leadership workshops and programs for at-risk students with community based agencies on college and leadership programs.
  • Works collaborative with community organizations on presentations by   alumni and college students on HBCU’s and leadership.
  • Coordinates and outreaches to community organizations, the courts system  as well as Boston Police Department and Boston Public Schools on programming to support Boston’s most pressed and at-risk students.
  • Provides Academic and Financial aid counseling and monitors high school student performance.
  • Works closely with volunteers.


Executive Assistant

  • Provides clerical support to the Executive Director.
  • Provides day – to – day office management.
  • Organizes and schedules the Executive Director’s calendar.
  • Responsible for scheduling staff, board and advisory board meetings for the NBCA.
  • Assist in program planning for events and meetings.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


The National Black College Alliance is looking to fill three full-time
positions immediately. The National Black College Alliance is a new
non-profit organization. National Black College Alliance is an organization
of college students and alumni from historically black colleges and
universities (HBCU's).

All positions require a bachelor’s degree. A Masters degree is preferred.
Looking for 3-5 years experience in program planning, program management, and coalition building with other groups. Knowledge of historically black
colleges and universities and their role of building communities of color.
Knowledge of community based organizations and area high schools a plus.

The NBCA is dedicated to increasing the awareness of HBCU's to high school
students in urban cities across the nation, and to recognizing the
outstanding contributions HBCU's and their alumni have made to shape American society. The Alliance provides resources for HBCU's through volunteering, mentoring, and supporting philanthropic efforts. To this end, the NBCA creates an atmosphere where high school students, college students, alumni, and adults can experience educational and personal growth. In addition, the organization encourages volunteerism and philanthropy from alumni, college
students, individuals, corporations, government, and foundations to become
active in creating the next generation of civic leaders.
